Paul J. Bupivi, Esq.

Educational Background and Legal Foundations

Paul J. Bupivi was born and raised in western Connecticut, and moved to Florida with his wife in 2009. He has been practicing estate planning and probate law in Sarasota since March 2012, having previously practiced in New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Mr. Bupivi attended engineering school at Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts for two years before continuing a course of study in the life sciences at New York University in New York City.

Mr. Bupivi developed an interest in the law and graduated from NYU with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor concentration in philosophy. He attended Brooklyn Law School in Brooklyn, NY, where he graduated in 1990 with a juris doctor degree. While in law school, Mr. Bupivi attended Pratt Institute of Technology and Long Island University at night to complete the curriculum that would have given him the engineering degree he originally sought.

Legal Expertise

Mr. Bupivi originally practiced at a plaintiff’s personal injury firm in downtown Manhattan for 11 years. During this time, he began practicing in the area of probate administration primarily as a result of cases where clients died during ongoing litigation and this developed into an estate planning practice, as well. He moved to southwestern Rhode Island in 1998 and continued the practice of law in New York and Connecticut.

In 2004, he was admitted to practice in Rhode Island where he had a solo general practice firm until relocating to Florida in 2009 and working “of counsel” to Rhode Island firms while studying for the Florida bar. He was admitted to practice in Florida in 2012, and concentrates his practice entirely on estate planning and probate & trust administration.
